Dennis Lee Hinspeter (Hunts) was born May 27, 1949 in Le Mars, Iowa to Lyle & Margaret (Dietrich) Hinspeter. He spent his youth growing up on the family farm outside of Meriden, Iowa. Denny attended grade school in Meriden graduated from Cleghorn High school in 1968 and went on to attend NITC in Sheldon, Iowa where he graduated from diesel mechanics. It was after this that Denny learned to operate his 1st dozer. Denny went on to work for area farmers, a few construction companies until he finally found his home with Schmillen Construction in Marcus, Iowa.
On June 8, 1979, he was united in marriage to Sue Haht. They were blessed with two daughters and made their home in Sutherland, Iowa.
Denny enjoyed home remodeling, spending time with family and friends, moving dirt and taking family vacations. Denny and Sue were often away fishing on weekend trips to various lakes in surrounding states. His wife and family were very important to him.
Denny worked for Schmillen Construction for over 33 years, wearing out 8 dozers, before his retirement in December 2016.
