My second Mom
I believe I was in 4th grade and mom and I went over to the Crowley house. I remember it like it was yesterday, meeting Dorthy and her son Dan for the first time, little did I know but I just met my best friend. After that first meeting you couldnt keep Dan and I apart. It seems every weekend either I was staying overnight at their house or vice-versa. That first meeting Dan and I ate cold pizza on the basement steps, best pizza I ever had. Over the years Dorthy and I became very close and often joked about her being my second Mom, what a lucky guy I was to have God put such a wonderful friend in my life. We went from riding bikes around the neighborhood to getting our drivers licenses to graduating from high school and Dorthy was there helping us in every way. We used to sit in the TV room and talk about what we did on the weekend and before you knew it Dorthy and Dan, Mark and I would just be laughing till we all had tears in our eyes. Even while writing this Im giggling at the memories. I remember when I would come back from Colorado to visit I would always stop and see Dorthy while I was back and we would sit and have a couple cold ones and reminisce and sometimes we just couldnt stop laughing at all the stupid things Dan and I and sometimes Curly would do...what a beautiful lady, she will be dearly missed and the tears now are for the second Mom I will truely miss. Thanks Dorth for all you did for me growing up and all the wonderful memories, I will cherish them and hold them close to my heart forever...RIP. All My Love, Mark Mayrose
