Condolence: Bev, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. My thoughts are with you and the rest of your family

Condolence: My heart was so saddened to read of Butts passing, but the tears quickly turned to a smile as I thought of the wonderful memories of him. My parents and I always made a point to see him if we were back in Le Mars. He seemed to enjoy our visits, too. Growing up, I remember him and Kathy playing jokes and giving each other a hard time. He was instrumental in our family getting a kitten from Doug and Jackie on the farm-we had her for at least 15 years. I've told my husband about his sweetcorn, too. We knew when we pulled into the driveway and saw those five gallon buckets by the garage door that we'd be eating well that night. I've still never eaten sweetcorn as good as Butts'! He and Ardy were some of the best neighbors we had. He so lovingly cared for her through her sickness. Heaven is smiling at his arrival, I'm sure. Our many prayers to the Langel family.

Condolence: I can still feel his huge hug and see his sweet gentle smile towering over me as a little girl. You will be missed Uncle Butts.

Condolence: We were very Blessed 7 years ago to get Roman as part of the Schwartz Family not to know that with Roman came a wonderful family. Butts was another Roman how could got them. Butts will leave us with lot's of stories and memories that we will hold onto tell we see him again. Butts is now blessing there be to great men in one family and we everyone in heaven as he did all of us here. Condolence: I was so blessed to be able to give Butts a hug and a kiss on Sunday when he attended my mothers wake. Whenever I came to see mom I always saw him as well and he always had that terrific smile for me and a story or two about the fun he and my parents had. What a friendship that "gang" had. Card parties, bowling, K of C events, and annual summer picnics and of course the annual New Years Eve Party.I so admired his perserverance and zest for life and his compassion for others. He leaves a great legacy in his and Ardy's children. A great guy who will be remembered by many. My prayers and sympathy to the entire family.

Condolence: Uncle Butts will always hold a special place in my heart! He became my 'fill-in' dad after dad died and the talks, hand squeezes, laughs, family story telling and hugs will forever be cherished! I was given a gift on Dec.17th by feeling the 'need' to stop by and visit on dad's one yr anniversary and then had the chance one more time to hug him and tell him I Love him and then, per his wish, had a beer with him...so like his brother Roman! Think of the party they all are having together😌

Condolence: Butts will be greatly missed by the LeMars community with his great personality and friendship. He was a great Brother Knight and a true friend to everyone he met. Condolence: Oh, what a man. He was a fiesty, spunky, loving, and funny man. There was never a time when we would see and talk to Butts that he didn't smile or laugh. He loved to give me grief about a "drinking" incident with Scott when doing the concrete drive in the cemetery. Can't imagine the ruckus going on up in heaven right now! Condolence: Oh Butts....what a great man! Gonna miss ya! When he used to lead the rosary, there were times that we would walk in during the first mystery and would either sit in front of Butts or next to him, we'd smile, he'd chuckle in the middle of reciting the rosary, we'd settle in and then he'd quietly say "your late"! Going to miss seeing him in church and either winking at him or shaking his hand. Whenever we would run into him, he'd always part with "I love you guys". Butts, we love you too! Going to miss you, may you enjoy a whiskey water, and rest in peace!
