Cyndi Wiebersch, 64, of Marcus, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family following a brief pulmonary illness. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus, Iowa. Rev. Bob Blair will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Cynthia Sue Wiebersch was born on September 28, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Hansen) Anderson. She graduated from Marcus High School. On June 6, 1970, Cyndi and Paul Wiebersch were united in marriage in Marcus. In early years, Cyndi stayed at home to help raise their children. She later took a position at Wells Dairy in Le Mars. Following her work at the dairy, Cyndi worked in housekeeping at Heartland Care Center in Marcus for several years. She retired on May 1, 2012.
Cyndi was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and loved to watch baseball. Her favorite team was the Oakland A’s. She preferred hot weather and being outdoors. Her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren walking, riding bikes and watching their ballgames.
Grateful to have shared her life is her husband of 45 years, Paul of Marcus, IA; her children, Todd Wiebersch of Sioux City, IA, Kory (Stacy) Wiebersch of Spirit Lake, IA, Matt (Julie) Wiebersch of Rockwall, TX, Jordan (Brandon) Westmorland of Sunnyvale, TX; grandchildren, Cynthia, Dylan, Lexi, Maggie, Kody, Levi, Easton, Luke, Lawson and her local adopted granddaughter, Brooklyn; sisters, Barb Hendershot of Vacaville, CA, Pam (Bucky) Tentinger of Marcus, IA, Diana Draper of Marcus, IA and Patti (Dennis) Heath of Forney, TX; and a sister-in-law, Lois (David) Toohey of Chanhassen, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
