Sherry Lee Roepke was born on September 17, 1942 in Martinez, California, the daughter of Winfield and Phyllis (Hane) Dunnington. When Sherry was a young child, her family moved to a farm south of Moville, Iowa. She graduated from Moville High School in 1960.

Sherry met Armand Roepke at the Moville Drive-in and the two became high school sweethearts. The couple married on March 27, 1960, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. They made their first home on a farm near Kingsley, Iowa. Along with assisting Armand on the farm, Sherry and two of her friends cleaned area homes. Sherry was very proud of the fact that all three of her daughters became school teachers. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens on the farm. Sherry was also patriotic and loved her country.

Sherry will be remembered for her kindness. She was constantly sending cards, making food and visiting others in need. She was an excellent cook, pecan pie was her specialty. Sherry kept active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives by attending their events and activities.

In earlier years, Sherry taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. With all of her activities, she somehow found time to attend her Bible Study and read the entire Bible. Sherry loved her cats and her Golden Retriever, Meggie. She looked forward each year to the Plymouth County Fair.
