Caleb Daniel Semple, 18, of Le Mars, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 following an auto accident near Rock Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday December 8, 2017 at All-Saint’s Catholic Parish-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars with Father Bruce Lawler officiating Visitation will begin on Thursday December 7, 2017 from 4-8p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at All-Saint’s Catholic Parish St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Caleb was born December 2, 1998, in Sioux City to David Edward & Paula Marie (Smith Semple). He graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 2017 where he was a member of the Calculus Club and the College English Club. Caleb had worked in the Hy-Vee kitchen and the Well’s Summer Freezer. He was enrolled in his first semester at South Dakota State University where he was studying to be a teacher. Caleb was immensely excited about attending SDSU.

Caleb was a happy kid who loved life and being around people. His contagious smile lit up a room. Caleb could always be relied on for his quick-wit, great sense of humor, and a flamboyant pair of socks. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends watching their favorite TV show, playing online video games, and going to video game tournaments with his cousins. Once he started college, he found his love for attending festivals or any event where he had the opportunity to dress up.

Caleb was funny, but he was also loving. All of his friends and cousins adored him. He would greet members of a family with a hug and always left them with an “I love you.” Every Christmas Eve he would read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to his family, a Christmas tradition that will be greatly missed. Caleb was a lover of animals, his dogs were most important to him. Caleb was loved by all and will be missed.

Caleb will be lovingly remembered by his parents, sister; Katelynn Semple, Aunts and Uncles; Nichole (Derek) Jones, Michelle (Jeff) White, Daniel (Andrea) Semple, Wanda (Todd) Kneip, Onie (Shannon) Donnell, many cousins, Grandparents; Judith & Paul Smith, and Mary Danette ‘Nettie’ & Dennis Semple, great-grandparents; James & Lois Heller, Mary Jane Anderson, and George & Julie Semple.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents; Richard Edward Anderson John & Iona Smith, Lila Williamson, and great-uncle; David L. Anderson.
