LE MARS, IA—Colleen A. Durr, 95 of Le Mars, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Chaplain Marie Lykken will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.

Colleen A. Durr was born April 12, 1923 in Le Mars to Everett and Opal (Calhoun) Simon. She married Orville Durr Sr. on October 22, 1940 in Le Mars where the couple made their home. Colleen enjoyed music and quilting. She even made one for all of her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Orville (Charlene) Durr, Terry Durr and special friend, Nancy Rodgers, Rodney (Beth) Durr, Linda Durr & special friend, John Robinette, and Patty (Leonard) Plueger all of Le Mars; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Dick Simon; grandsons, Brett Olson and Randy Stabe; great-granddaughter, Amanda Hughes; daughter-in-law, Mabel ‘Hank’ Durr; and son-in-law, Bill Stabe.
