After his early years in Marcus, Iowa he moved to Le Mars, Iowa where he was raised by his mother and Joe Galles. He attended grade school in Le Mars and high school in Texas and Iowa.

Dylan was outgoing and fun loving. He was fearless behind the boat and on the high diving board. Dylan loved being outside in nature, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding 4-wheelers and relaxing by the water.
