Obituary for Timothy Lee Brownmiller

Timothy L. Brownmiller, 64, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at The United Methodist Church of Le Mars. Rev. Dr. Okitakoyi “Michel” Lundula will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Friday.

Tim was born on June 2, 1955 in Le Mars, Iowa to Cyril and Audrey (Leesley) Brownmiller. He was raised in Marcus, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1974. Tim was employed at Wells’ Dairy for 23 years in the transportation department. He later drove for BLT in Le Mars for many years.

Tim and Pam Miller were married on April 15, 1978 in Crookston, Minnesota. They have made their home in Le Mars for the past 41 years. Tim was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and family. He liked to visit everyone he met.

Tim is survived by his wife, Pam of Le Mars, IA; his son, Brett (Jennifer) Brownmiller of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren, Tanner, Dawson and Jozi of Le Mars, IA; his siblings, Dan (LaVonne) Brownmiller, Jeanie (Merle) Wilken and Kathy (Eldie) Bray all of Le Mars, IA; sisters-in-law, Joyce Brownmiller of Le Mars, IA, Jan Harpenau of Remsen, IA, Susan Miller of Ada, MN, Diann (Rick) Prussia of Hedrum, MN, Sharon Gregor of Mora, MN; brother-in-law, Bob (Gina) Miller of Twin Valley, MN; special family friends, Bill Campbell, Terry Messelheiser and the Hawkeye Gang; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Russ and Janice Miller, a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Doug Gaul; brother, Jim Brownmiller; brothers-in-law, Ross Miller and Rick Harpenau; and a nephew, Scott Wilken.
