Ryan Michael Toel was born on June 3, 1982 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Jean (Peters) Toel. He was Baptized and Confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ryan attended Le Mars Community Schools, graduating from high school in 2001. As a child, Ryan was fearless. Willing to try anything and usually encouraged on by his brother Mike. At the age of 14 he took up the sport of motocross. He loved anything outdoors like skateboarding, snowboarding, 4-wheeling, hunting and fishing.

Following school, Ryan began his career in the construction industry. He worked for John DeGroot Construction and, in 2012, became a co-owner. He would later purchase the business and changed the name to Toel Construction. He specialized in, and had a passion for, building hog and pole buildings.

Ryan worked hard and played even harder. Everything was always done on "Toel time". Always there for his family and friends, Ryan helped numerous people with everything from remodeling projects to giving them employment. He was willing to give people a chance when no one else would. He was strong in his Christian faith and was not afraid to show it. Ryan was also a devoted father to his son, Bentley who made him extremely proud.

Ryan passed away at the same age (37) as his mother, Jean did. That number has always had significant meaning to the Toel family. Ryan’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Bentley Toel of Le Mars, IA; his father, Wayne Toel and his wife, Karen of Schaller, IA; a sister, Kimberly Toel and her husband, Tim Hicks of Sioux City, IA; a brother, Michael “Toby” Toel and his fiancé, Rebecca Costi of New River, AZ; nephews, Braden, Karsten, Preston and Justin; a Godson, Riley Fiedler; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many incredible friends, especially Justin Fiedler and Kyle Kuenen both of Le Mars, IA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean on April 3, 1994; grandparents, Verlin and Joan Peters, Louis and Louise Toel.
