Pearl M. Driscoll, 96, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Father Bruce Lawler will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Neptune, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. with a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church.
Pearl Marjorie Driscoll was born on August 2, 1923 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Edward and Mary (Kingsborough) Polesky. She graduated from high school in Russell, Minnesota in 1940. Following graduation, Pearl worked for a lawyer in Marshall, Minnesota.
On November 26, 1941, Pearl and Thomas W. Driscoll were united in marriage at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. They were blessed with four children. She and Tom farmed together in Minnesota prior to moving to Iowa in 1948. They continued farming until retiring in 1992, when they moved into Le Mars, Iowa. Along with farming, Pearl worked at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars as a unit secretary for 20 years.
Pearl was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Neptune, Iowa where she participated in the Altar Society. She is currently a member of All Saints Catholic Parish – St James Church in Le Mars. She was also a 26 year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Pearl loved nature and flower gardening. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing cards, dancing and music. Pearl took great pride in her family’s accomplishments in life and enjoyed attending their activities.
Grateful to have shared her life are her two sons and their wives, Edward and Joan Driscoll of Dexter, MI and Michael and Joan Driscoll of Le Mars, IA; a daughter and her husband, Cynthia and Tom Kruse of Le Mars, IA; a daughter-in-law, Jan Driscoll of Saline, MI; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian Lischefska of Deerfield Beach, FL; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom on September 15, 2010; a son, Robert Driscoll; a sister, Agnes Buchert; a brother and his wife, James and Florence Polesky; and brothers-in-law, Ross Buchert and Ted Lischefska.
