Obituary for Theodore James Recker
Theodore James Recker, 48, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 27, 2020. Due to the current public health mandate, A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
Theodore James Recker was born on May 27, 1971 in Orange City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Jean (Letsche) Recker. He attended grade school in Marcus and graduated from Marcus High School. He later married Deb Rietkerk.
Following high school, Ted worked at several occupations. He worked as a mechanic, did work on farms and drove a truck. He was currently driving a cement truck for GCC in Le Mars. He was very creative and handy and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed collecting antiques. His greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren. Ted liked playing trucks and building toys with them.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Ashli and Steve Landhuis of Sanborn, IA, Alyssa Ohrt of Primghar, IA, Vanessa Recker of Chino, CA, Troy Recker of Le Mars, IA, Brenden Recker and Kristina Plendl of Le Mars, IA, his mother, Jean Recker of Le Mars, IA; a fiance, Shannon Wichers of Le Mars, IA and her children, Angelica and Kyle Strom of Hospers, IA, Riley Wichers of Hospers, IA and Logan Wichers of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren, Vincent Plendl-Recker, Jaivyn and Kora Landhuis, Jeremiah, Christian and Levi Strom and one on the way; his siblings, Victoria and Don Haack of Le Mars, IA, Michael and Deb Recker of Marengo, IA, Matthew and Penny Recker of Le Mars, IA; step-daughter, Ashley Stephenson and her family of Remsen, IA; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Richard Recker on May 24, 2009.
