Obituary for Linda Kay Kuiken (Gritzmaker)

Linda Kay (Gritzmaker) Kuiken, 64, of Sibley, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, July 24, 2020. A private Celebration of Life Service with Rev. Dr. Michel Okitakoyi Lundula of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars will take place on Monday. Friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Linda Kay Gritzmaker was born on July 16, 1956, in Mason City, Iowa and raised by Delton and Jean Gritzmaker in the Le Mars, Iowa area. Linda graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1974. On December 10, 1982, she married Leon Kuiken at the First Methodist Church in Le Mars. They were later divorced. Linda always had a smile on her face and loved meeting people. She worked at various occupations in the food service industry in Alton, George and Sibley, Iowa areas. She worked most recently at Subway in Sibley until health issues forced her to retire.

Linda enjoyed reading and word puzzles. She enjoyed anything that kept her mind sharp. She also loved animals and had pets most of her life.

Grateful to have shared her life is her mother, Jean Gritzmaker of Le Mars, IA; two brothers, Gene and his wife, Ruth and Wayne and his wife, Nancy; special friends and their children, Amy and Travis Chapa and their children, Jaycee, Addilyn and Kamdyn, Julie Bechler and her daughter, Elianna and Jason Bechler; close family friends, Jim and Kay Peters and their daughters, Becky, Jill and Laura and her husband, Nick; and numerous cousins including, Marc and Millie Chapman and Merry Kool.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delton; and her paternal and maternal grandparents; two brothers and one sister.
