Obituary for Jason Duane Jackson

Jason D. Jackson, 46, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Rejoice! Community Church in Le Mars. Pastor Mike Metten will officiate. Burial will follow St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (Neptune) rural, Hinton, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church on Monday prior to the funeral. Masks and social distancing will be required.

Jason Duane Jackson was born on September 17, 1974 in Sioux City, Iowa to Everette and Shirley (Jebsen) Jackson. His mother was remarried to John Plendl who raised Jason with her. He graduated from Remsen Union High School. After graduation, Jason enrolled in firefighting school. Jason worked for a brief time at Wells Dairy before obtaining his CNA certificate. He worked one year at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars before taking a position at Floyd Valley Hospital. He was currently a CNA at Floyd Valley Healthcare and was beginning the process of becoming an EMT.

Jason was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He spent his spare time in his garage man cave watching games. He also loved working in his yard and woodworking.

Grateful to have shared his life is his wife, Tracy Luchtel-Jackson and their sons, Royce and Quinton of Le Mars, IA; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donna and Jeff Britcher of Le Mars, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Craig and Eva Luchtel of Oxford, IA; half-brothers, Bob (Susan) Jackson of Le Mars, IA and Jim (Barb) Jackson of Merrill, IA, Alan (Cindy) Pedersen of South Sioux City, NE and Dale (Sheila) Pedersen of Jackson, NE; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jason Luchtel of Palm Bay, FL, Clint (Cindi Couch) Luchtel of Le Mars, IA, Jacob (Courtney Brian) Britcher of Le Mars, IA, Jasmine Brithcer of Omaha, NE and Jeffery Britcher, Jr. of Le Mars, IA; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother and step-father, Shirley and John Plendl; father, Everette Jackson; and an infant daughter, Quintessence Marie.
