Ann Louise Meylor was born on February 13, 1936 in Cherokee, Iowa to Ted and Edna (Schmidt) Johnson. She was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee. Ann and R.J. “Jay” Meylor were united in marriage on November 12, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa where R.J. was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic. After Jay retired, they took their motor home to Texas, Arizona and Florida. They found a permanent home in Texas and went there every year until R.J. passed away in 2003.

Sue, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. I did not know her, but I bet she practiced kindness. I am sure she was as kind and as great as your Dad. You are in our family's thoughts. Gerry Niehus

Dear Many Meylors, I fondly remember visiting your family as a kid. Ann Meylor was gracious, caring and so much fun. Our mothers and the Meylor Aunts Elaine and Ginger were friends of my Mom, Mary P. McCarthy. I think if you were a friend of one of the Meylors you were a friend to all Meylors. Whenever I stop in LeMars for a Bobdog I think of the big Meylor house full of the good and caring people of your family. My condolences to all. To Ann's children, your Mom's voice will always be with you. Take care of yourself and each other (the daily sign off of Lester Holt, NBC News). Those words are needed as you grief during these upside down times. Please share my message with Ginger - another good matriarch.
