Obituary for Carol Kathleen Taylor (Hamann)

Carol K. (Hamann) Taylor, 65, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her home in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev Christian Meier of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present from 2 – 3 p.m. to greet friends.

Carol Kathleen Taylor was born on January 23, 1957, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mildred (Hammatt) Hamann. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School. Following high school, Carol attended Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City, Iowa where she studied as a dental assistant.

On May 21, 1988, Carol and Dennis Earl Taylor were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. They made their home in Le Mars. Throughout the years, Carol worked at K-Products and Tyson Foods in Orange City, Iowa. She finished her working life at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars where she served as the manager of the laundry department.

Carol was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She was an avid reader and was very accomplished at embroidery. Carol also had several things she collected including Mickey Mouse, Boyd’s Teddy Bears, carousels and spoons. She and Dennis shared a love for the Vikings, Cubs and Hawkeyes. She was very involved with the lives of her nieces and nephews and attended their activities and took them on trips.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Gayle Maney of Merrill, IA and Joyce (Clifford) Boehing of Amarillo, TX; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Hamann of Le Mars, IA, Carlene Hamann of Danbury, IA, Brent Schmidt of Amarillo, TX, Gwyn (Ron) Bergthold of Nashville, TN, Karen (Mark) Jones of Spotsylvania, VA and Nancy (Randy) Boeshart of Homer, AK; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis on October 24, 2021; sisters, Judy Hamann and Tamie Schmidt; and brothers, Lynn and Glenn Hamann.
