Le Mars, Iowa – Judith “Judy” (Robinson) Becker, 93, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. A private family service will be held at a later date. She will be buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Minot, ND next to her parents.
Born on September 19, 1928, in Minot, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Ward C. and Emma (Knutson) Robinson. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Leo’s High School in Minot, ND, St. Catherine University of St. Paul, MN and 1950 graduate of the University of Minnesota (Dental Hygiene). In 1981 she graduated from Minot State University with a degree in Psychology.
She married Bruce H. Becker of DesLacs, ND on March 25, 1951. They lived in Champaign, IL and St. Louis, MO while Bruce was in the US Air Force, afterward settling in DesLacs, and then Minot. Judy was employed as a dental hygienist with her father’s dental practice in Minot. After the children were raised, they moved to Billings, MT and then to Bigfork, MT where she operated Judy B’s Candy Shack. Since that time, Judy has lived in Minot, Le Mars, IA and State College, PA. She worked for Hospice of Siouxland while living in Le Mars as a volunteer, and then as Director of Volunteer Services. Judy had a deep faith in the Lord and loved being a grandmother. She also enjoyed playing Bridge, reading and golf.
Judy is survived by her five children, Mary Gail Becker of Boulder, CO, Christopher (Barb) Becker of Le Mars, IA, Robin (Jeffrey) Stahlecker of Hamilton, MT, Scott W. Becker of Rock Springs, WY, and Stacy (Colin) Grunert of Regina, Sask. She had 11 grandchildren: Damon Allmaras (Kelly) and Leilani Becker Nelson; John (Kiley) Becker, Jay (Sarah) Becker, Ryan (Sarah) Becker; Tanya (Tim) Cecil and Cheri (Josh) Warner; Patrick (Laura) Grunert, Sheena Grunert (Nathan Riersgard), Matthew Grunert (Brooke Stepp) and Alyssa (Evan) Ludwig. She had eight great-grandchildren: Landon and Cooper Allmaras; Marion and George Becker; Liam, Swen and Luca Becker; Lathym Grunert and Skye Ludwig.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Pat Allen and Gail Meyer, and sons-in-law Jim Allmaras and Colin Grunert.
