Obituary for Marvin Lee Rassel

Marcus, Iowa – Marvin L. Rassel, 55, of Marcus, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Deacon Paul Gengler will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery in Oyens, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Marvin Lee Rassel was born on May 31, 1967, in Le Mars, Iowa to Wayne and Margaret (Gengler) Rassel. He attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1986. During high school he was active in the FFA. Marvin graduated with an AAS degree in feed and fertilizer from Iowa Lakes Community College. Marvin was employed at Sand Seed in Marcus, Ag Solution in Urbandale, m2p2, Fashion Pork and most recently as an insurance agent. He was a very respectable businessman, was well known and had a deep love for his family, son and grandchildren. Marvin always had a big smile anytime you would see him. He enjoyed camping and hunting. He was married to Lisa Haar.

Marvin is survived by his father, Wayne Rassel of Le Mars, IA; his son, Michael (Sinsi) Miller of Columbus, NE; his siblings, Julie Rassel of Red Oak, IA, John Rassel of Sioux City, IA, Mark (Amy) Rassel of Orange City, IA, Jason Rassel of Wall Lake, IA, Susan Rassel of Struble, IA, Joe (Missy) Rassel of Kingsley, MI, Kristina (Stacy Weston) Rassel of Sioux City, IA; half-brother, Kevin Rassel of Little Rock, AR; his former wife, Lisa; step-children, Jimmy Olson of Marcus, IA, Alan Olson of Hinton, IA, Luke Olson of Marcus, IA; grandchildren, Kohen and Lennox Miller, Hayden, Kaylee, Lincoln, Addie, Brady, Colin, Cayben, Alyvia and Lilly Olson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Rassel; his half-brother, Ronald Rassel; and his nephew Xavier Rassel.

Marvin will be loved and missed by everyone.
