Obituary for Cheryl L. Krause (Lewison)

Cheryl L. Krause, 66, of Remsen, Iowa passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at MercyOne in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Garret Kasper of Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen will officiate. A private family funeral service will take place with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa.

Cheryl was born on July 18, 1956, in Akron, Iowa to Richard and Lavina (Chambers) Lewison. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron and was confirmed in May 1971 at the same church. Cheryl graduated from Akron High School. Cheryl and Keith Krause were married on June 15, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children, Christopher, Rebecca and Sarah.

Cheryl worked at various occupations in Le Mars including, Aalfs Manufacturing, Walmart, Goodwill and currently at Casey’s. She loved time spent with her family at picnics, camping, fishing and with her new grandson, David Keith. Sewing and crafting were some of her favorite hobbies. She also loved her dogs that were known as the fur babies.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her children, Christopher (Anna) Krause, Rebecca Krause and Sarah Krause, all of Oyens, Iowa; her grandson, David Keith Krause; her sisters, Cathy Dover of Bentonville, AR, Claudia Rasmussen of Akron, IA and Cynthia (Paul) Hutchins of Pittsburgh, KS; her brother, Rick Lewison of Akron, IA; nieces and nephews, Sarah (Timothy) Hampton, Ryan Rasmussen, Kerri Rasmussen, Jaycee (Jacob) Graffigna, Christina (Dave) Compton as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol Lewison. She is for sure one of God’s greatest angels and followers and will be greatly missed by all who know her.
