Obituary for Elizabeth Rae Bollin (De Boer)
Elizabeth R. (De Boer) Bollin, 41, of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Private family services will be held at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Elizabeth Rae DeBoer was born August 22, 1981, to Scott and Sandy DeBoer at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Liz attended Le Mars Community Schools and after high school she took individual college classes and training in bookkeeping/tax preparation. She had worked for a few different tax preparation companies and enjoyed her time there. She married Derek Bollin in early 2003 and had 3 loving, brilliant and caring children, Aris James, Elias Scott (Ren), and Aurora Kay. She had another wonderful son later in life, Lukin. All of them as full of promise as Elizabeth. She loved them so very much, even when she struggled to love herself. She was a very proud parent, and we have no doubt her amazing children will continue to make this world a better place.
Liz was always excited to learn, and had a love for science, math, psychology and history, which she passed on to her kids. She loved to fish, though she seldom had time to. She was particularly passionate about her social and worldly belief and was always ready to stand up for the rights of all people. She was especially kind and helped many people in their hour of need and, of course, was always willing to celebrate her family and friends. Working in the family shop was something Liz really enjoyed as she was a great people person and readily able to talk to anyone. She impacted a lot of people’s lives during her time on this earth. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
We all wished more for Liz and wished we could have done more to help her with her inner struggles. She will always be our sweet, ornery Liz.
