Kenneth Joseph Baack, Jr. was born on May 15, 1969, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Joseph Sr. and Mary (Van Essen) Baack. He attended Le Mars Community Schools, graduating in 1987. Along with a diploma came the title The Legend of ’87. During high school, Kenny worked at Fuel n More. Following graduation, Kenny took a position at Harker’s. When Harker’s closed, Kenny found work at Gateway in North Sioux City, South Dakota. He later worked at Pella in Orange City, Iowa and was currently employed for the last 15 years with Wells Enterprises in Le Mars.

Kenny was an avid Green Bay Packers fan along with watching LA Laker basketball and Pittsburg Pirates baseball. As a young boy, Kenny had the honor of meeting and having his head rubbed by the baseball Home Run King, Hank Aaron. He liked music of all types and was a proud member of the KISS Army. His rock and roll heroes were Ace Frehley and John Entwistle. He was an unconventional role model to his nieces and nephews who dubbed him “Uncle Fun”. He loved to reminisce with them and regaled them with stories of his youth, whether or not they wanted to listen. Kenny was a giving person and helped others whenever he could.

He will be missed by his sister, Beth Baack of Le Mars, IA; a twin sister and her husband, Kay and Mark Ryan; nieces and nephews, Tom (Emili) Miller, Jennie (Joe) Clarey, Rose Ryan and Joe Ryan all of Le Mars, IA; and longtime friends, Theresa, JD and Ethan Manning, Kevin and Dawn Strohecker and Steve Sneller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend Dale B. Manning.
