Obituary for Gladys Harms

Gladys A. Harms, 85, of rural Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2003, at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa. A private family graveside service will take place at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Gladys Alvina Haudenschild was born on August 6, 1937, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and Caroline (Beitelspacher) Haudenschild. She attended country school near her home and assisted her family on the farm. Along with farming, Gladys worked as a waitress in Le Mars at the DX station.

In 1961, Gladys and Robert Henry Harms were united in marriage at Pipestone, Minnesota. They made their home on a farm near Le Mars. Gladys enjoyed gardening and canning as well as helping Robert with farming.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Faron Harms and his wife Elaine of Cleghorn, IA and Justin Harms and his special friend, Krystal Bird of Le Mars, IA; and a sister, Marlene Seibert of Sibley, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert on January 20, 2014, and a sister Loraine.
